Mountain view to san Francisco

Wow I'm behind on blogging. So I had a great day the day I came to San Francisco. Karissa and the kids and I went to an Indian buffet. Wow it was awesome! I had no idea I liked so much Indian food. After we ate we walked around Castro St and then I took Caltrain to San Francisco.  Karissa and the kids rode with me for a bit and then got off to go back home.
I checked into google and then into my hotel. I relaxed for a bit and then went out to dinner with john and Aimee :-) we had some good Chinese food. I had calimari and Brown rice. Very different but yummy.
We hit up a Starbucks and then I walked around for a long time. I met a few people in need and talked to them for a bit. I gave them some money and then walked to the mall and walked around there. I then went back to the hotel and relaxed for a bit. I met up with john and Aimee and Pam at a sports bar and had a great time :-)
I got back to the hotel and had a video chat with christian on gtalk until we went to sleep.

Mountain view - day 2

Sorry for the late update. Day 2 was a nice day with Karissa and Dan and the kids. We jad Mediterranean food for lunch. Very yummy.  The highlight of food was sushi for dinner. We had California roll, California roll with salmon, pumpkin roll, and chicken terioky (sp?) Roll. By far my favorite was the pumpkin roll! Ethan is so much fun to spend time with. He is 3 now :-) and it has been really nice to catch up with Karissa. :-) I haven't seen Dan a whole lot yet but I'm sure we'll rawk it out when I get back to mountain view :-)

Mountain view - day 1

I woke up around 11am. Opened the sliding glass door and soaked in the beautiful weather. I got ready and went outside for a walk. Wow it is so beautiful here! So many trees, plants, and flowers :-)  the air is so clean! And you can see mountains in the distance.
It is very mixed for different types of people. there is a high population of Asians. Also there is a high population of 25-35 year old people. But like I said there is a lot of diversity :-)
I am currently outside eating a spicy lemongrass chicken on noodles dish. Very yummy

I went back to the apt and took a 3 hour nap. LOL
I got up around 7pm and walked around again. I found some guys playing guitar and singing. I ended up recording them doing amazing grace my chains are gone. So kewl :-)

And then I got some awesome Mexican food. Chicken guacamole tostada. And I had to get some horchada. That stuff is amazing!
I got back to the apartment and relaxed some :-)
Such a great first day back in California :-)

Excited about Google I/O 2011

I'm really excited about going to google I/O 2011 :-)

Just the fact that I get the opportunity to attend google I/O is a total God thing. Also thanks to john and Pam for helping make that possible!

I have a few ideas of what will go down at I/O.

First I think it is pretty obvious that the keynotes will be all things android and all things web and chrome os.

Android keynote:
I'm confident they will announce ice cream sandwhich which is supposed to join android 2.3, android 3.0, and google TV. I think they will focus on the advantages of build once run anywhere. Also I think Sony will have a big presence with the xperia play, PlayStation network, and google TV.

Web/chrome os keynote:
I think they will focus on html5 like last year but quickly shift gears to the power of chrome os.

Gifts:
I think they will gift lots of gear this year. My obvious guesses are a tablet either xoom or the rumored nexus tablet or the Asus transformer and for a phone the sprint nexus s. I also think Sony will gift the Verizon xperia play to help push their dev network. And finally think it is very possible to also get a google TV device and a chime os laptop. That's a lot of stuff but the possibilities are limitless.

Afterparty:
They have already announced the fun for the afterparty. I'm confident it will be an awesome night. I really wish u could be there christian.

The sessions I'm interested in:
I'm very excited about all of the Geo google map sessions. I'm also interested about cloud robotics. And I'm sure I'll try to hit a few android and HTML courses.

All in all it should be a wicked Awesome time to reflect and learn.

Understanding the brilliance of rainbows

I had an interesting thought about a week ago about the brilliance and beauty of rainbows. To start we have to understand that God gave us the rainbow to show us his peace and grace.

In the Bible it explains that God is so holy that we can't even see His face. He wouldn't even show His face to moses. I liken that to the brightest white light you couldn't even imagine.

A rainbow is the separated colors/ parts of white light. My thought is that God gave us the rainbow to show us Himself. We can't see God in all of His glory but we can see pieces and parts of Him at a time. Like 1 color is His glory, another color His grace, yet another color His sacrifice, etc. Also keeping in mind that the colors are not solid colors like in a children's coloring book, but instead the colors blend together to allow for all of the pieces or characteristics of God to mesh together to form the beautiful holy tapestry that is God.
